  First knowledge of a Schaich from Kohlberg, nearby of Nurtingen. At the foot of the ALB (Alps?)Mountains. This village has about 1500 inhabitants of which 300-400 are named Schaich, all of the Eastian Race -- that means our ancestors came from the eastern part of Middle Europe. He and family (son Michael) came to Nurtingen in 1723.
